Ok. I’m liberal, open minded and generaly think that kids have it though with all the press that hoddies have gotten them in resent years.
But I have just read an artical on the Register (one of my any favour site) and it made me sick to my core. Its about thinks called shag bands, here is the artical.
How the f*&* does a 12 year old girl now some of these things??
Ok I admin most of what youths get up today confuses the f*(& out of me and I have no idea what they are say have the time, but I vagely remember beign that age. I know I didn’t know about half those things, but my interest in girls was starting.
This should be kick in the ass right now. Childhood is short and resonably come to every to soon to everyone.
Normally I wouldn’t call for a website to shut down as I beleive in Freedom of speach but something needs to be done about this site at lest put a F*&^ing age verifier on the site it as simple peace of code.
The reason that this has sicken me is that in a year or so I could have a child and I know that if they where doing things like this I would personally beat the crap out them for being so F&*^ing stupid as to put themself at risk with stupid things like this.

Hello IT department! Oh my phones not ringing

Ok so I’m having a quite day at work. I’ve cought up on my work back log and the phone hasn’t rang since 9.30 with a problem.

What the problem, relax, take it easy, chill and embrace the tranquality of you life. HELL NO.
Right now I running about a million possible problem through my head. The reason for this is that its 2 day before I take some well need annaul leave, and after woking in IT for nearly 8 years I’ve learn that this is the time when the worst problems can occour.

So I’ve changed the backup tape, check the health of the servers, and all seems fine. Citirx terminals appears to be working, Printers are fine, users are happy (well as happy as they ever are!)
WTF is about to go wrong?
This is worse then being in hounted house and all the screeming has stop and you can only hear the sound of your heart.

Found my happy place

Ok so I was walking throught the factor floor in work and heard an advertisment for a funfare that is comming to Beflast this weekend.
So how can this ad help me find my happy plcae, is the best fun fare in the world? no. Has the fun fare an special memorys for me, not really. Its jsut that the ad triggered a memory from when I was obout 15 or 16 , and it cheared me up.

Let me set the sean, it 1994 or 95, a young happy IB is at this fun far with a few of his mate from Belfast and my little bro in toe. We are gennerly having a laugh and bit of banter, you know going on ride that spins round and sticks you to the wall, all of sunnden a hand come out and hit you in chest and you cant breath. The innocents of youth.

Anyway at some stage of the night this pettie girl about the same age come up to me and my mates and ask if I want to go out with her mate. I wasn’t the confidnet person I am today so I though she was talking to one of the others, then she ask me again.
Remember we are about 15 or 16 and this was the sort of thing that happen. So I thought it was a cause of doing it for a shy friend. I’m 15 or 16, what was if going to say except “I’d have to see her first” so girl 1 runns off to get her friend, and when she return I was the one about to do a runner.
Her mate send her over because if she had of asked me I would of falt said no, then left.
Ok so the two arrive and I’m in a situation where I’m trying to tell girl 2 there is no way in hell I’m going to go out with her while being polite about it, so I pull out the usual excuse ( well the only one I can use at this stage) like are you sure you 16? you only look about 12. Girl to send her better looking friend over to try to butter me up, I would have said ok. I dont mean to be roude about girl but she was rough.

As this is going on my best mate is telling me I should go with her for the night, go on give it try she might be up for it. Now the same guy how is tell me I sould go with her is also the same guy who will take the piss as soon as she was gone.
I manage to get ride of her in a polite mamer, I remember telling her she looked way to young for me and I wasn’t risking her dad commign round a connor and kicking the shit out me for coping off with is 12 year old daughter. Truth is she was 16 and I know by the way she was trying to confice me to out with her she was.

Any way moments after they left my best mate turn me and start tell me I was harsh, I probably destroyed the girls night, turned her to a lesbian, etc, etc.
Although 5 minutes later he was taking the piss out of me for the fact that I might have considered it.

So the reason this cheered me up. The memory made my laugh when I think back to my teenages years and some of the stupid things I did.
Its amazing how memorys work.

Bloody Right to bear arms

I’ve just an artical on the Register about Walmart running out of bullets, and it made me so mad I had to post this.
If they are that short on ammo, why the hell dont they just come over to Ireland and tell the ira that they want there bullets back.
After all they only funded a terrorist war 20 odd years, they must be entitled to some sort of refund now we are in peace times, and lets face it they got f*&^ all out of that war.

I not bitter or twisted. Ok not that bitter or twisted but when I read stuff like this is me wont what f%&*&£g sence of reality the bloody yanks live in.

BMW Drivers

As everyone know the Majority of BMW drivers are w*&%ers (with the exclusion of Streak) now i used to think that it only applied to car drivers but I was wrong.

Yesterday I was on my way home and this short f*(kwit on BMW 1200 something or other was at the lights infrount of me. We both took and got past the traffic, then I got past said twat, at this point I was only thinking he was a bit of a prick as he had bought the bike matchign BMW canfus protective gear and helmet that matched the bike. Then as I was going past traffice that was stop he was right my ass. I mean his wheel was a cm from my back one. This is a bit off putting as I had reached a point where i decided that I didn’t want to be in the middle going onto a round about he did. So he blows past me.
Being on a sports bike I pass him on the next streight and then he sits between two cars trying to pass them both, to get passed me again and then he switches lane with only inches to spare.

Then this morning another BMW (online using the in good weather) rider blow past me, after blinding me on a streight that realy is very dangerous. This rider had thought I must show I a c%$t and buy all the BMW gear as well.

If you want to ride motor bikes get a desent one and not a f*&^ing BMW.

getting to work

Today I saw one of the most amazing views as I was coming to work. As I started to go the hill into Belfast, my eyes where meet with a Belfast covered in fog.
Thats not unusual but it was the way the fog had formed that was amazing, the hills behing belfast had no hint of fog and the scrabo hills (form newtownards) were surounded by fog but now on them. I hadn’t encountered any on the way in either.

It was as if someone had pushed the fog from strangford lough and but it over belfast.

Ok so Im a slave to the system, I work as network admin using server 2003 and windows xp. I’m pritty much a Microsoft user at home as well.
All that aside I still dont like the microsoft approach to things, it like being part of the borg from star trek. But at lest Micosoft do come off with some appsolute amazing marketing tacktics. The lastest one I’ve read is about how they are better then Lunix.

Ok so lets look at how microsoft are not better then Lunix.

Virus are more common on Microsoft OS across the range.

Microsoft have a history of relsising software that is not fit for purper, ME and Vista (full range)

No one in the IT industry want to tuch a microsoft of until at least SP1 is on the go

crashing.

Marketing department forces software out and trys (badly) to make Microsoft look like the dogs ball, and uses bulls*&t facts to get the job done. My personal favour was with vista trying to tell the world that it was good and there was no problem with it.
Ok Lunix is an open source OS and is constaly being up date but it has two major advantages ITS FREE and it WORKS.
