OK so thats more then anywhere else in Northern Ireland for one streatch of road. Pluse its on one of the bussies commutter streaches in Northern Ireland, the Bangor to Belfast A2.
Now let me give you the setup of the cammera’s, its all dual carrage way, so there is two cammera’s for entering the average speed area and two for exiting and about 6 different zones. All along a 6 mile streatch of road.
Ok the road is prone to accidents, so the local cops and two councils thought it would be a good idea to get these up and run to saves life’s and make shit loads of cash in RUSH HOUR.
All good in theory, but then again so was Comunision. They realase the first set of figures for this life saving and accident stopping idea. In 2 months how many people do you think they cought speeding??
1, ONE, UNO, only 1 poor sod got done for speeding in 2 months.
Now for the reason that the accidents happen. Along this streatch of road is quite a famous hotle in Northern Ireland called the Callughen. The enterance to it is situate on the side of the road that runs from Belfast to Bangor, down hill, about 500 yards from a blind cornner. Any clues to how the accidents happen??
You guest it Business men going to meating in that hotel, turning accross traffic. Some moron late for a meeting or work, not paying attention to the road comes round said corrner flying down the hill and BANG. 3 hour delay for work, cars everywhere and cops. Thats what make this streatch of road so dame dangerous.
The wordt thing about it is about 200 yard down the road is a set of light they could turn at, or alternitivly there is a bridge that cars can get over and on to the correct side of the 1/4 mile done the road.
But no Local counciles would rater pay F*&k loads each year to runs this light in an effort to make what about must £360 a year on 6 people speeding?? I mean it hasn’t even stop the accidents, there was one two weeks after they went live.
Like I keep saying. MORE COPS ON THE ROAD to sort out dangerous drivers.
