Smoking Aces

Ok this is one of the most disapointing moves that I have seen for years.  I finally got run to seeing it the other night.  After all the hip that srounder the move I was expecting big big things.  But instead I got a totally over hiped Hollywood shiny happy excuse of a gritty shooter move.

Where do I begin, the cast read like a hows how of the good and greate of hollywood ganster movies, with a few up and comming actors in it. 

Andy Garcia was as usual came, collect and clinical in his delverance of the FBI agent incharge of the case, Ray Liotta was nothing special, to be honist this was probably not the gratest role for remembering him in, he’s ability to be a cocky agent was good but he didn’t bring any urgency to the part when it was required, but was able to pull of the shoot out seen well.

Ryan Reynolds was ok, he tried to act the part and tryed to get it going during the big shoot out scene but was less then interesting in the role. 

Ben Affleck has only a shot but utterly pointless role, it was as if someone had decied that they him in a move and wrote in the 10 minutes of scines and at them end he get shot in the back and is dead.

Alicia Keys was a interesting as wet news paper, and acted like one as well. Although Mathew Fox was only a 3 minute cameo it was three minutes of wooden acting and a Weard Ail-Wankavitich look alike.  In lost he is good a the action doctor but my good he was crap in this movie.

As for the Shoot outs, they last about 2 shoots be shoot out except for the main one which was mostly the FBI getting wested but a sniper in a nother building wit a 50cal arm snipper riffle, being use like and machine gun.

The twists at the end of the move where ok and one of the only saving graces of movie, along with Andy Garcia. 

This is deffinatly one of the movies I’m glad that I barrowed of my Bro and didn’t buy or see in the cinema or I would be demaing my money back.  Even as a big action and gangster movie fan I think this was just an excuse to get lots of guns in a move, it could have been so much better, if only they have of thought about what the plot was and not so much about pointless characters.  I’m not missing the point of the movie, I realize that is was about to mob members totally getting the wrong message and trying to Smoke Buddy Aces.  It was just a shit movie and shouldn’t have made.

Missed Birthday

Once again I’ve miss one on my closest friends birthdays,  I’m sorry Andrea.

I think she is getting use to it as I do it every year, but this year I fell really shit for missing it. 

And why would this year be any different??  They made the effert to come to my wedding even though Bytey doesn’t like flying and it was the first one since first year at uni that everyone who understands each other was together.

I’m a really carp friend and I’m sory.

People must think I’ve a drink Problem

OK so as I said I’m leave my curent post, and everyone is upset(ok they tell my there sad I’m leaveing),  so today we all stop for coffee and I’m given a leaving card and few present, in amoungst the present is a bottle of Southern, which on top of what one of our colo office gave me (a bottle of wine) make me start to think that everyone thinks I like a drink.

But that got me thinking.  Does everyone in the IT industry enjoy a bottle or five of booze every once week???  The reason for asking is that most all my friends enjoy drinking to some extent.

SO the question is Do computer drive you to drink?????

A lot to say

Ok so I’ve not blog properly from before Christmas and now it half way thougth Feburary.

So what been happening?

Wedding at the end of November and the hunny moon, which is mentioned in earlier posts.  Then the whole getting ready for Christmas.

Christmas was good as we where able to enjoy the morning to gether, are first as man and wife, then round to the in-laws for Christmas dinner, more present, food some beer and wine.  Christmas night was at my fokes house for More present, beer and snack food, we stayed at my fokes that night then home.

Now I promested Lynsye a dog at after we got married and she held me to it, so a few days before the new year we got one for the USPCA, it was a x-bread.  Unfortunatly it wasn’t with us for to long as, we think the dog was treated badly by it last owners and it made life hard for both of us.
Normally it would bark and snap at me, and sometime at Lynsey as well, this was every day of a month.  Both being Dog lovers (not in that way Bytey) we got the dog into an animal sancurary call ASSIS, where they re-home dogs and dont put them down.

for the first time I had to companies trying to get me to work from them, that is the strangest felling in the world.  I was want by two companies and it was an aganizing decission to make as I would love to have done both job but I have settaled for the job that has better transport rootes to it.

The first job was a junior application support role, which was a bit of everything from computer building to web development, it was in a par tof Belfast that is harder to get to and I didn’t fancy weighting around if I missed the train as it would have been about 8.30 by the time I’d get home.

The second is a Sys Admin role on the Castelreagh Road in Belfast, it is easiser to get to and also it was a more clearly defined role so I know what I was doing with.

I start my new job on Monday and I’m looking forward to it.  But with all new things something old must go, and that my current role, everyone here has been telling me how much they will miss me and I fell the same.
